Unloading our windows, siding, doors, insulation, studs, and you name it!

This was at 2pm after the truck dropped the load off at 10am! A few windows and our sliding door installed! Can you hear the excitement coming through the computer? Syd's room is the window closest to the left, then the living dining room, then the guys are by our master.

Just a quick picture of the guys putting in windows. Mark the builder told me today that we are in the 5% of people who have a dry floor in the main part of our house. He said they are usually moping and squeegeeing water off the floor! Again, so lucky! This was a big load of studs for the basement, Pacific Blue siding, windows, insulation, etc. Mark (our Mark) is going to blow in the insulation so we can make sure to get an abundant amount of it since we lost our windbreak AND since we are at one of the highest points in Black Hawk County!
Plumbers come next week, then the electrician! I feel like I am repeating myself!
Finishing up the shingles in about a day and a half!
Wrapped JUST in time for the light rain we had! NO rain on the inside, luckily!

Syd and Em in Em's room! Em has a great view!

I thought I would try uploading pictures first since this site is a bit difficult when it comes to moving the pictures around. The windows are being delivered today! Things should be fully sealed up by the weekend! We feel so fortunate that the rain missed us early in the week so they could get the roof on and the house wrapped. Thanks to our SE Iowa friends for taking the rain for us on Monday and Tuesday.
Hopefully the plumbers and electricians can get in early next week. Things are coming along. We are very pleased! It is exciting to walk around the layout that we designed. We wouldn't change a thing. Good thing, huh?

Rollin', rollin', rollin'...

Front view of the house...on Friday.

Things are really moving along this week and it is only Tuesday! They got most of the roof covered with plywood last week and yesterday, then the "shinglers" came yesterday to shingle the roof. They were afraid that they would get the paper on, then it would blow away because the wind is about 15 mph. faster up on our hill! So, they are making great strides.

Putting plywood on the front.

Trusses up and starting to put plywood on the roof.

WOW! A dream is becoming a reality.

WOW! is the word for yesterday. So much progress. Finally.
Mark had a crew of 2 guys and they worked their (still kind of sick) tails off!
The geothermal crew was there and got the lines hooked up for the system!
The Hendryx crew got the water hooked up to the house and finished the septic system. Here are some pictures. It was a late night with Emily last night. 103 temperature! Beautiful weather is forcasted for the week...great for people who are building a house and for farming! Keep it coming, Mother Nature.
Digging out for the septic system.

Great progress! The erecting you see happened in a day!

View of the master bedroom. We asked for big windows and got big windows!

Here we go again!

Okay, now major work is taking place. I drove by at 10 this morning and there was not a lot done (as seen from the road), but when I drove by again at 12:30 they had a wall or two up in Emmy's room! Very exciting. Last week, the constuction crew had the flu. The main boss, Mark, did come out and put on the plywood floor by himself, but he couldn't do the big stuff alone. Last week was a wasted week.

Hendryx did come last week and they dug a big hole for the septic tank. They are there today also.

Also, as I drove by the second time today the geothermal guys were pulling in. They are going to hook up the system.

Sydney has ear infection, so I am not firing on all cylinders today. I think I will just stop now. I hope to get out there later today to take pictures of the day's progress.
